On the morning of April 22nd, the Press Conference of “Mr. Zhu Bingren and Mr. Yang Fengchen Cross-Straits Arts Exhibition” was held in the Hangzhou West Lake Expo Museum. Mr. Yang Fengchen, famous sculptor and artist in Taiwan and president of Taiwan Sculpture Academy, and Mr. Zhu Bingren, a master of arts and crafts in China and famous copper-melting artist, were present at the Press and gave an introduction of the Arts Exhibition. Mr. Wen Wenyuan, department chief of the Festival and Event Administration in the Office of the West Lake International Expo Organizing Committee, presided over the Press.
As a key cultural program cosponsored by the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) and the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), “Mr. Zhu Bingren and Mr. Yang Fengchen Cross-Straits Arts Exhibition” will be staged in three stops, Hangzhou, Taibei and Gaoxiong, and Hangzhou as the first. It is the first folk-cultural exchange program involving cross-straits artists, after the interaction of politics and economy. Over 60 arts articles will be exhibited, including their joint works. Their works reflect traditional Chinese culture, and folk culture exchange plays an important and excellent role in significant cross-straits events.

“Born by the Same Mother”, made by Mr. Yang Fengchen and Mr. Zhu Bingren, was the main attraction of the 3 articles exhibited at the Press. It is a bean-shaped sculpture, and wishes for good relationship between the mainland and Taiwan.
The Arts Exhibition will be open from May 2nd to 25th in the Hangzhou West Lake Expo Museum. On the afternoon of May 2nd, the Cross-Straits Cultural Creativity Symposium will be held in the West Lake Pleasure Boat, with the participation of representatives from the cross-straits cultural circles and convention & exhibition fields. |
