Recently, the 1st Xiaoshan International Tourism Festival and China International (Xiaoshan) Qiantang River Tidal Bore Festival 2009 were awarded as “Hangzhou Convention & Exhibition Industry Top Ten ‘Expanding Domestic Demand, Promoting Consumption’ Contribution Prize” by the Coordinating Office of Convention & Exhibition Industry Development Hangzhou.

Xiaoshao is one of the main venues of the World Leisure Expo. The Qiantang River Tidal Bore has celebrated its 15th anniversary as a traditional Festival of Xiaoshan. In 2009, the Qiantang River Tidal Bore Festival also staged the 1st Xiaoshan International Tourism Festival, with an income of RMB 1.34 billion. In recent years, Xiaoshan has successfully staged several Festivals and Events, e.g., the International Tourism Festival, the Qiantang River Tidal Bore Festival, the Dujia Red Bayberry Festival, the Three Rivers Food Festival, the Double Seventh Cultural Festival, the Fishing Cultural Festival, the Sanqing Tea Cultural Festival, etc. These Festivals and Events would bring in almost 0.5 million tourists and 0.1 billion income to Xiaoshan every year.
