The Southern and Northern Foods Exhibition & Exchange was another important program of this Festival, hosted in Lou Wai Lou Restaurant. It would give tourists a chance of enjoying Hangzhou food and other delicacies nationwide. During the event, the host would invite chief chefs of Guangzhou Jiujia Restaurant, Beijing Jinyang Restaurant and Suzhou De Yuelou to Lou Wai Lou Restaurant, for demonstration and communication.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Zhang Weimin, member of China Artists Association and vice-chairman of Hangzhou Artists Association, presented his painting of Rewarding Residents at the Su Causeway to Hangzhou Lou Wai Lou Restaurant Co. Ltd. Present leaders and guests unveiled the 3.5-meter-high mascot of World Expo Shanghai-Hai Bao.
