On the afternoon of March 24th, the press conference for “Welcoming the World Expo Shanghai, Appreciating the Chinese Famous Paintings, and Tasting the Traditional National Delicacies” West Lake Food Cultural Festival 2010 was held in Hangzhou Lou Wai Lou Restaurant. Mr. Shen Guanzhong, president of Hangzhou Restaurant and Hotel Association, was present at the press and gave an introduction of the event.
“Welcoming the World Expo Shanghai, Appreciating the Chinese Famous Paintings, and Tasting the Traditional National Delicacies” is an important program of Hangzhou’s participation in World Expo Shanghai, and of this year’s West Lake International Expo. This event has two main contents, including “Welcoming the World Expo Shanghai Lou Wai Lou Painting Collection Exhibition” in the West Lake Art Gallery. Over 100 modern artists’ masterworks treasured by Lou Wai Lou will be exhibited, disclosing the historical and cultural deposits of Lou Wai Lou, and the relationship between Chinese calligraphy & paintings and food culture.
The other content of this event will be the Southern and Northern Foods Exhibition & Exchange, hosted in Lou Wai Lou Restaurant. It adds festive atmosphere to the opening of World Expo Shanghai, and gives tourists a chance of enjoying Hangzhou food and other delicacies nationwide. During the event, the host will invite chief chefs of Guangzhou Jiujia Restaurant, Beijing Jinyang Restaurant and Suzhou De Yuelou to Lou Wai Lou Restaurant, for demonstration and communication.
We note that this event would be hosted by the Office of West Lake Expo Organizing Committee Hangzhou, Hangzhou Trade Administration, the Leading Group Office of Cultivating and Developing Ten Special and Potential Industries Hangzhou, Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Landscape and Cultural Relics, Hangzhou State-Owned Capital Running Company. It will be open in Zhejiang West Lake Art Gallery on the morning of March 27th, and closed on March 31st. |
