March 20th, China Convention & Exhibition Economy Association Annual Conference was held in Beijing. At the conference, China Convention & Exhibition Economy Year Reward 2009 was announced, and Hangzhou won the Important International Convention & Conference Destination City Award.
In 2009, the Coordinating Office of Conference & Exhibition Industry Development, Hangzhou achieved outstanding success in establishing Hangzhou as an international convention & conference destination. Through the year, 7208 conferences were held in Hangzhou, increased by 19.2% over 2008, including 412 international conferences (increased by 48.2%). The Hangzhou City received 318000 conference representatives, and a conference operating income of RMB 223000000. This award to Hangzhou indicated that the brand of International Convention & Conference Destination City be generally accepted by our national convention & exhibition industry.
The selection was hosted by China Convention & Exhibition Economy Association, and 16 of over 400 units or companies were standing out. Hangzhou was a big winner. Zhongbo Exhibition Group, member of Hangzhou Convention & Exhibition Association, was designated as China Outstanding Private Convention & Exhibition Enterprise; Zhejiang Institute of Economic and Trade Technology won the Successful China Convention & Exhibition Higher Professional School. These awards showed the great competitive power and influence of Hangzhou convention & exhibition industry. |
