These 25 girls are from various professions, interviewed by a group of experts. The interview content included self-introduction, knowledge of West Lake Longjing Tea, tea performance, and oral English, etc. Prof. Tong Qiqing, doctoral student professor of Tea Science Department, Zhejiang University, consultant of China International Culture Institute, and consultant of Zhejiang Tea Industry Association, talked to journalists, “It is important for the West Lake successfully applying for World Heritage to publicize the West Lake Tea, and the notion of ‘Tea as National Drink, Hangzhou as Tea Capital.’ We expect that the-to-be West Lake Longjing Tea Fairy Maiden shoulder the responsibility of promoting Hangzhou, the West Lake and Longjing Tea, and have more people become to know and taste the Longjing tea, as well as the Chinese tea history.”
