On the afternoon of March 18, 2010, Hangzhou Conference & Exhibition Company Symposium was held in Xinqiao Hotel, Hangzhou. Mr. Shi Yongsheng, vice-director in the Coordinating Office of Conference & Exhibition Industry Development Hangzhou and president of Hangzhou Conference & Exhibition Industry Association, Mr. Wang Bingwen, chief of the Conference and Exhibition Administration Department in the Coordinating Office of Conference & Exhibition Industry Development Hangzhou and vice-president of Hangzhou Conference & Exhibition Industry Association, Mr. Wen Wenyuan, chief of the Festival and Event Administration Department in the Coordinating Office of Conference & Exhibition Industry Development Hangzhou and vice secretary-general of Hangzhou Conference & Exhibition Industry Association, and heads of the units and organizations related to Hangzhou Conference & Exhibition Industry, attended in the symposium.

This symposium aimed at finding out enterprises’ needs of participating in conferences and exhibitions, giving a report of the preparatory work of the 12th West Lake Expo and the participation work in the World Expo Shanghai, and commending outstanding exhibition companies and individuals. At the symposium, Mr. Wang Bingwen made a presentation of the annual plan and program 2010 of Hangzhou Conference & Exhibition Industry Association. All present units and organizations proposed their plans and suggestions for 2010.

Mr. Shi Yongsheng made a conclusion to the symposium. First, on behalf of the Office of the West Lake Expo Organizing Committee, he appreciated Hangzhou conference and exhibition enterprises’ efforts and contributions to the Conference & Exhibition Industry Hangzhou. Second, it is a year of World Expo Shanghai; it is the theme of “Being Integrated into World Expo Shanghai, Being Staging a Successful West Lake Expo, and Being Strengthening Enterprises and Companies” that directs the development of the Conference & Exhibition Industry Hangzhou; and the work priorities would be on visiting World Expo Shanghai, participating in the Expo, sharing the spirits of Expo, and taking the opportunity of Expo. This year would be the 12th West Lake Expo, and also the second ten-year-period of the West Lake Expo. The Office of the West Lake Expo Organizing Committee would continue their efforts in following the municipal government’s leadership, respecting enterprises’ important status, emphasizing internationalization, staging a successful West Lake Expo, and well preparing for the 2nd World Leisure Expo.
