Restoration Works of White-Dragon-Pool Temple Starting in 2010, West Lake District being the Leisure Travel Demonstration Zone
Do we have natural waterfalls in Hangzhou? Yes! It is the White Dragon Waterfall in White-Dragon-Pool Scenic Spot, West Lake District, with a drop of 50 meters.
White-Dragon-Pool Scenic Spot had its Phase 1 restoration works done in May, 2008, and re-opened to the public. This year Phase 2 will be initiated, including restoration of the White-Dragon-Pool Temple, renovation of the tea garden, and new entertaining and leisure facilities.
How to go there? Several bus lines are provided: taking K504/308 to Zhuantang, or Y5 to the Future World, Sightseeing 8 to Longwu Township; and then transferring to minibuses to White-Dragon-Pool Scenic Spot.
In 2010, West Lake District has several projects to fulfill, related to leisure travel.
The West Lake District Economic Working Conference was held on March 17th, 2010. On the conference, it was decided to introduce more people into the participation of “Creating the most Beautiful City in China”, through the efforts of several projects, e.g., “Cultural Creativity Industry Zone One”, “Leisure Travel Demonstration Zone”, “Technical Innovation Leading Zone”, “Urban Agriculture Collection Zone”, “Real Estate Zone”, etc.
West Lake District has set the 2010 objectives for establishing the area as the Leisure Travel Demonstration Zone, in terms of number of domestic and international tourists and ticket sales, number of rural tourists and operating revenue, and the percentage of rural tourism economic income by local GDP.
In 2010, West Lake District will speed up the construction or renovation works of 6 leisure travel scenic spots, 6 travel complexes, 8 rural tourism brands, 10 special travel routes, etc. |
