Banshan Mountain Park, Longshan Mountain Park, and Hushan Mountain Park
be Connected

Data: 2010-03-19

Camping out has become a fashion. New campers usually like to find some nearest mountain areas for practice and experience.

Two years ago, Banshan Mountain Park and Hushan Mountain Park in Gongshu District were built. This year, Longshan Mountain Park in this district will be under construction. We note that the construction works of connecting Banshan Mountain Park, Hushan Mountain Park, and Longshan Mountain Park will be initiated. According to the plan, a ten-kilometer-long walking street will be constructed to connect the three parks, and become the second “Ten-Li Long Walking Trail”.

As Big as four times of Banshan Park
The construction works consist of Banshan Park, Hushan Park, Longshan Park, and the mountain areas between each two, amount to 172 ha.

The to-be-built walking street is designed based upon the actual slope of those mountain areas, and will connect the three parks to a unit. This street is divided into three parts, namely, a hill-stone road (5.5 km long and 3.6 m wide), a walking trail (2.5 km long and 2.4 m wide), and a mountain road (2.2 km long and 1.8 m wide).

For the purpose of natural resource preservation and environmental protection, Gongshu District has made the decision to restore mountains, waters, and green areas. The to-be-restored green areas will be covered by evergreen plants, e.g., coniferous and broad leaf forests (lodgepole pine, pinus massoniana lamb and bamboo), cultivated plants (lotus magnolia, cinnamomum camphora and holly), and natural vegetation (paper mulberry and pterocarya stenoptera).

As an Exercising Trail to New Campers
The construction works will be done before October 1st, 2010, as well as some fitness activities for various needs. The hill-stone road, mountain road, and restored green areas will be a good choice for new campers.

The walking street is a good place for family walking and middle-aged citizens. Walking, jogging, fresh air, mountain landscape, leisure, and relaxing, will enrich people’s weekends and holidays in Hangzhou.

As an Arena to Mountain Cross Country Challengers
Along the walking street, many signs will be posted for young people to learn popular science, e.g., local climate, ecology, species and their characteristics, etc.

The to-be-built walking street will be a complete loop bicycle trail, good for mountain cross country bicycle challenges.

Along the trail, some landscapes of Hangzhou City’s culture and history will be created, for example, peach garden, tea garden, tea house, spring water, etc.
