2010 China Hangzhou International Conference on Educational Innovation (Wenhui Forum) grandly opened on the morning of October 8th.

Evolved around the theme “promoting education quality and equity through innovation”, 6 special sessions were held including “conference of high-level expert of international basic education quality assessment”, “regional education quality assessment and evaluation system seminar”, “future educationist development seminar”, “moral education innovation forum”, “symposium on preschool education and the kindergarten-primary education transition” and “the 3rd ecological class festival of Xiacheng District”.

The winners of the first Asia-Pacific Region Educational Innovation Award”—“Wenhui Award”, with the theme “promoting the education of human resources development” were announced at the conference. 34 individuals and organizations from Asia-Pacific region were first recommended by regional offices of UNESCO and committees of different countries, and only 12 individuals and projects were listed as candidates for the award after preliminary screening. In October, the second session of the judging committee of “Wenhui Award” was held in Shanghai and 5 candidates were finally elected after discussion.
