Call for Papers "Leisure and the City"

The leisure forum aims at enhancing the academic exchanges of leisure in the world, promoting the development of the global leisure industry and leisure cities, so as to facilitate the leisure development and the construction of leisure cities in China. The Forum takes "Leisure and the City" as its theme, and the economic system construction of the leisure cities in China as the key research subject. This forum is to carry out in-depth discussions on leisure, centering around 4 topics, namely leisure and urban economy, leisure and urban culture, leisure and social security, and leisure and community life.

In order to enable Chinese leisure scholars, leisure managers and operators in the leisure industry to have substantive communications and exchanges with internationally renowned experts and leading celebrities in the leisure field in an all-round way, hereby 2007 Leisure Development International Forum calls for papers.

Paper Topics
Any paper, which accords with the theme of the Forum, centers around leisure and urban economy, leisure and urban culture, leisure and social security, leisure and community life, and has not been presented in any national academic conference or published in any publication, is eligible for submission. The paper should be theoretically forward-looking and of practical significance, with explicit views, detailed research information and standardized quotations.

This forum welcomes the following achievements in particular. First, the research focuses on practices, such as a research about the selection of some policy, some experiment or some best plan; and a research about the change of some strategy, some project or some implementation. The paper is required to describe the effects or results, which can be proved. Second, the research focuses on the theory of leisure and urban development, such as a research about some scientific procedure, some theory, or the relationship between leisure and urban development. The paper is required to conduct scientific elaboration on the research object and content, the research method and achievement.

Requirements for Paper Submission
Paper abstracts in both Chinese and English as well as the full text in Chinese should be submitted. For the convenience of management, communication and publication, the abstracts in both Chinese and English as well as the full text should meet the following requirements:

1. The abstracts in Chinese and English should be less than 1,200 words, and include the following aspects:
Introduction: To state clearly the purpose of the paper;
Method: To describe clearly your selection of the subject of the observation or the experiment;
Result: To display your result in a logical order with words, tables and figures;
Discussion: To emphasize the new and important aspects of the research as well as the conclusion.

2. The paper should be typeset in Microsoft Word with the A4 paper as the standard. The paper title, author, working unit and contents should be put in separate lines. The number of words in the paper shall not exceed 6,000 (including tables and figures).

3. Requirements for paper typesetting: title: boldfaced in size 3, placed in the middle; subtitles: block letters, in size -3, placed in the middle; the author's name: imitation-Song typeface, in size 4, in the middle; the author's working unit and address: imitation-Song typeface, in size -4, in the middle; the text: Song typeface, in size 5, 41 characters per line, not more than 37 lines.

Deadline
The deadline for submitting the paper is October 5, 2007.

You are kindly reminded that any paper, which does not meet the requirements, is not to be accepted. Notice on paper acceptance will be sent to the authors of excellent papers before October 20, 2007.

Paper Appraisal and Selection
The submitted papers are to be appraised and assessed by an international appraisal panel made up of famous scholars and practioners, based on the paper quality and its reflection of the Forum theme. The papers selected for the Forum are to be compiled into a paper collection for publication. Some excellent papers will be recommended for publication in relevant magazines.

APCL, as the academic team of the Organizing Committee of 2007 Leisure Development International Forum, is responsible for soliciting papers. The authors submitting papers are kindly requested to send the abstracts in English and Chinese as well as the full texts to www@zju.edu.cn and copy to xuzhe930@sohu.com before October 5, 2007.
